Operation Chivalrous Knight 1

The United Arab Emirates carried out Operation Chivalrous Knight 1 in 2021 to evacuate nationals of various countries from Afghanistan. The total number of Afghan nationals and citizens of friendly countries evacuated from Afghanistan reached 36,500 individuals. The UAE also agreed to host 5,000 Afghan nationals who were evacuated from Afghanistan while in transit to third countries.

In addition, the UAE played a leading role in facilitating the evacuation of foreign nationals from Afghanistan, enabling the evacuation of more than 28,000 people, in addition to 8,500 individuals who arrived in the country via national carriers and UAE airports.
